Kapitolyo Townhouse

Brief

Light brought down through a stair void into a narrow, deep plan.

A narrow townhouse with windows on only two sides left the middle of the plan dark. The owners wanted light without losing privacy from the neighbours.

We cut a stair void through all three floors, topped it with a skylight, and lined the void in pale plaster so the light travels down. Rooms off the stair borrow brightness through glazed doors.
